Welcome to Building from the Back
BARCELONA, Spain — One of NorCal Premier Soccer’s core values is education.
But not just the education of the youth players for whom we’re responsible, but the continuing education of those who have the biggest impact on our children in Northern California: the coaches.
Our coaching education initiative has taken many different forms over the years, featuring a variety of coaching clinics and lectures from world-renowned clinicians, however, this upcoming experience may top them all.
For the next two weeks, NorCal Premier Soccer is trading Northern California for Northern Spain as more than 30 of our coaches will learn from some of the best in the world when we visit FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao.
The trip is organized and subsidized by NorCal due to our dedication to help in any way possible to encourage lifelong learning for the coaches.
And as a facet to help the public understand of what we’re doing, and maybe even learn a few coaching pointers of their own, we’ve started this blog, Building from the Back.
While BFTB will provide daily updates from our Spain trip with a variety of written, photo and video content, the purpose of the blog doesn’t end on this trip.
Here at NorCal, we’ve been searching for a platform to better cover the sport of soccer, even when it doesn’t directly pertain to soccer in Northern California.
We believe that there are lessons that can be learned from soccer all over the world that has direct applications and relevancy to the youth players, coaches and referees who make up our great organization.
So though we’ll still update the website with news posts, we plan on using this blog to document some of the more profound ideas that we wish to express and share as well as showcase the unique thoughts of our coaches.
For these next two weeks, you can expect content exclusively from Spain where we’ll be learning from professional coaches and players while taking in a plethora of top-quality matches.
After that? Well, we’re not really sure exactly what we’re going to fill this space with or how often we update, so please, give us your feedback. Let us know what topics you want us to cover.
Until then, gracias al la España.
