NorCal Announces Inaugural ECNL-RL Preseason All-Region Teams

For the first time in its 20-year history, NorCal Premier Soccer has named Preseason All-Region teams for its top level of league competition, the ECNL-RL, which kicked off play last weekend at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex.

A panel of experts including NorCal staff, coaches, and directors, identified 11 players from four different age groups on both the boys and girls sides of the game to earn this distinction ahead of what’s expected to be a competitive season of league play this fall and spring.

“We wanted to honor the standout players in each age group, players who we’ve seen make an impact at the highest level throughout the last few years in helping their teams to succeed on and off of the field,” said NorCal NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “This is a huge honor for the 88 student athletes who have been named as one of the best 11 players in the region.”

Those 88 players come from 36 different clubs all throughout the state, with Los Gatos United leading the way with seven different selections.

Just behind Los Gatos are Stanislaus United and Walnut Creek Surf, which each have six players nominated, while Almaden FC, Clovis Crossfire, and De Anza Force each saw four players receive this honor.

Other clubs with multiple entries on the lists include AC Marin, Association Football Club, Burlingame SC, California Odyssey, Eastshore Alliance, EC Revolution, Elk Grove United, Folsom Lake Surf, IR Academy, MVLA, North Coast FC, San Juan SC, San Juan South, SF United FC, Solano Surf, South Valley Chivas, South Valley United, Turlock Academica Jrs., TSP FC, and WSC Crush.

Meanwhile, those clubs in which one player was recognized are: 1974 Newark FC, Albion FC Merced, Modesto Ajax United, San Ramon FC, Santa Clara Sporting, SF Vikings FC, Stanford Strikers, Stockton Storm, and Valley Surf.
