2022 Fall Girls College Showcase Recap
The final major event on the 2022 youth soccer calendar for the olders is now complete as the Girls Fall NorCal College Showcase took place this past weekend at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex in Davis.
Nearly 100 college coaches from five different levels of the game were on hand to scout their potential next stars as thousands of players and hundreds of teams played one game each on Saturday and Sunday at the event.
“We couldn’t have imagined a better event for our players to gain valuable exposure in a central location with dozens of college coaches on hand to watch,” said NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “It was a great way to end our competitive calendar for the older players this year.”
Teams from NorCal Premier Soccer’s highly-competitive NPL were joined by ECNL squads and other outfits from outside of the area to take part in the event at the massive complex.
And for the first time ever, NorCal held an All-Star match in which 52 of the best players from the state met in a marquee matchup during a prime time slot Saturday night. The Central Valley selection proved victorious over the Bay Area side, closing out a 2-1 match in front of the coaches.
“It’s an awesome thing that NorCal decided to do,” said Cosumnes River College coach Emmanuel Vega. “Deciding to showcase your talented players in an All-Star game is something that the girls won’t forget being a part of.”
