NorCal to Host Club Development Seminar Sunday
For the third straight year, NorCal Premier Soccer will host a club development seminar, with this version to take place Sunday at NorCal’s June 28-30 Summer Coaching Symposium in Stanford.
The seminar will feature a combination of different presenters with expertise in running a club off the field in order to better share knowledge with clubs looking to improve their infrastructure.
“A key component to growing the game is helping people be more successful in reaching their goals as a soccer club, whatever those goals may be,” said NorCal Club Services Coordinator Nick Lusson. “This event is suitable for both small, grassroots clubs and larger professional clubs.”
After Lusson begins the seminar at 9:00 a.m. with a fundraising workshop, he’ll hand the event over to a variety of different experts, starting with Cindy J. Chang, Brian Bosl, and Bill Tilson who currently serve on the staff of the Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland and will speak about injury prevention.
From there, Noel Munivez and Brian Cobb, each parks and recreation professionals, will guide clubs through fostering a relationship with local parks and rec departments before frequent NorCal clinician Frans Hoek will speak about having a vision for your club.
Finally, the seminar will end with Austin Daniels of US Soccer, who will present about coaching education, John Weinworth of SportsEngine, who will discuss technology strategies, and NorCal’s own Erin Sharpe, who will speak about fostering girls programs in each club.
