U17 BOYS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
4/28	Sacramento United		0-0 (PK's)		SC Sporting Green
While an earlier meeting in Champions League play saw Santa Clara Sporting down Sacramento United via a one-goal margin, their matchup in State Cup play could produce no winner as the two sides played to a scoreless draw in both regular and overtime. But one team had to advance and that team proved to be Sporting, who were better from 12 yards out on the day and didn’t miss a single kick to move onto the semifinals.

U17 BOYS STATE QUARTERFINAL B
5/3	PAC San Jose		7:15 PM		San Juan Blue
While this game won’t take place until the following Friday, PAC San Jose will need all the preparation they can get as they take on arguably the tournament favorites in San Juan SC. Currently tied for first in the Champions League, San Juan got to this stage with a 3-1 victory over Turlock Academica, while the NPL 2’s PAC San Jose made it to this stage of the tournament with a 4-0 win over Real Sacramento.

4/28	Ballistic United		1-0		Lamorinda United
In their matchup against Ballistic United, Lamorinda SC came out and dominated the game, creating chances early and often. But chances aren’t what decide games, goals are, and Ballistic got the only one of those in this match. Against the run of play in the 24th minute, Mateo Moncada curled one home to the far post to send Ballistic into the semifinals and Lamorinda home, despite 66 minutes of waves of attack from the losing side.

U17 BOYS STATE QUARTERFINAL D
4/28	California Odyssey		3-2		CenCal Cosmos
In one of the games of the weekend, the 10-man CenCal Cosmos led twice but ultimately lost in regulation to local rivals California Odyssey. CenCal opened the scoring in the 57th minute through Manuel Gonzalez Ramirez, only to relinquish their lead just one minute later due to a strike from Christian Silva. Ramirez then helped CenCal retake the lead with a goal in the 62nd before Yusuf Shehata scored an upper 90 banger to level the game, helping set up Ruben Gonzalez’s 89th minute winner.
