2024 Fall Girls College Showcase Recap

With hundreds of teams participating from several different leagues and levels in front of more than 75 college coaches, the NorCal Girls Fall College Showcase proved another resounding success this past weekend at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex.

While some matches featured important league games in the ECNL-RL and NPL, there were also sides on hand from the ECNL, Girls Academy, and several other clubs from outside of the area, all of whom were looking to make their mark in front of their potential future college coaches.

“NorCal Premier Soccer would like to thank all the attending teams and coaches who made this incredible event possible,” said NorCal NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “It was an exciting weekend of action where our top level players were able to show their skills to college coaches looking for their next stars.”

For those who weren’t able to attend, several key matches were streamed live on NorCal’s YouTube channel, providing another opportunity for talent evaluators to scout players, as well as for friends and family members to tune in.

Perhaps the highlight of the weekend was the latest NorCal College Showcase All-Star game, in which a selection of players from NorCal’s ECNL-RL and NPL leagues were chosen to play against each other Saturday night.

The squads, which were split into players from the Bay Area and Valley regions, were made up of athletes currently in their junior and senior years of high school and coached by California Storm head coach Jamie Levoy and NorCal PDP staff coach Casey McCormick.

In what was a back-and-forth affair, the Valley side came out on top with a 3-2 victory, with Albion Central Valley attacking midfielder Abby Herren being named player of the match for Valley.

“While the College Showcase All-Star game is still in its infancy, it has already become one of the most-anticipated events at the showcase, both for the players participating and the college coaches,” Chaidez said. “This past weekend’s game was another opportunity to celebrate the top players in NorCal in what turned out to be an excellent game of soccer as well.”
