2019 NorCal NPL Fall Showcase Recap: U16 Boys
NPL 1 East
Division Winner: Placer United
Champions League Qualifiers: Placer United, Davis Legacy, San Juan, Atletico Santa Rosa
Coming into this weekend, Placer United, Davis Legacy, and Atletico Santa Rosa were already guaranteed Champions League spots, but still needed to battle it out to see who would take the NPL 1 East title. Placer ended up winning that dual with a pair of victories, which only left into question who the last spot in the spring’s top league would go to. With San Juan SC and Santa Rosa United the two sides who could qualify, San Juan proved stronger, scoring eight goals in two games to take six points from the showcase, while Santa Rosa United fell in both of their contests.

NPL 1 West
Division Winner: MCS ECFC United
Champions League Qualifiers: MCS ECFC United, Palo Alto SVSA, SF Glens, MVLA
In what was arguably the game of the weekend, MCS ECFC United edged SF Glens Evolution via a 3-2 scoreline Sunday, but both sides qualified for the spring’s Champions league regardless of the result, with MCS taking the title via a three-point margin. The real question of the weekend, though, was which of MLVA and Red Star would take the fourth, and final, spot in the spring’s top division. That went to MVLA, who garnered four points from the showcase, while Red Star could only manage a pair of draws. Joining MCS, SF Glens, and MVLA in the Champions League will be second-place Palo Alto, who were the only undefeated side in the division.
