After the lull in club soccer that is summer break, NorCal Premier Soccer’s National Premier League returns this weekend with an exciting slate of games at multiple locations throughout the entire state.
2017-18 NORCAL NPL FALL SCHEDULE
Mark Torguson and Ron Benjamin of Two Shiny Domes bring you up to date on all the action with their 2017-18 NPL Preview show.
Divided into groups based on past performance, each NPL team is looking for a top finish that will see them qualify for the spring’s coveted NPL Champions League, which can be garnered by finishing in the top third of most NPL 1 divisions.
SPRING DIVISION QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE
“The NorCal NPL continues to succeed in its goal to provide a top flight division for Northern California youth players,” said NorCal Director of Competitions Jason Drury. “By providing the highest level of statewide competition and local NorCal College Showcases, NorCal strives to provide the best possible environment for youth players and their clubs.”
While the season starts this weekend, it doesn’t end until the NPL Fall College Showcase, which takes place November 18 and 19 in Davis for the girls and in Modesto for the boys. Similarly, all division titles will be awarded during the NPL Spring College Showcase May 19 and 20 in Davis.
In addition to possibly qualifying for the NPL National Finals on the girls side, the top two teams from each boys Champions League group will be granted a spot in US Club Soccer’s new Elite National Premier League. NorCal is one of fifteen leagues nationally that qualify teams for the ENPL events. For more information on the ENPL, click here.
