12 Teams Take Home Super Rec Cup Titles
Over the course of this past weekend at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex, NorCal Premier Soccer hosted the latest edition of its Super Rec Cup, a highly anticipated season-capping event for NorCal’s recreational league structure.
Featuring nearly 100 teams in the U16-U19 age groups from 32 different clubs, 12 different teams were crowned champions of their respective divisions in what was two days of fun had by all.
“The Super Rec Cup always features a festive environment for all ages and skill levels to compete in the beautiful game that we all love,” said NorCal Grassroots Development Manager Andrew Taylor. “Everyone looks forward to this event because of the fair competition it provides, its focus on the enjoyment of soccer, and the great memories made by all.”
This year’s Super Rec Cup proved to be incredibly competitive, with nine different clubs winning titles. All but one of the 12 finals were decided by just a single goal, with the 12th being a two goal victory.
The most successful club over the weekend was Roseville Youth Soccer Club, which took home titles in four different divisions.
Other winners included Davis AYSO United, Dixon Alliance, Konocti Youth Soccer League, Land Park Soccer Riptide, Natomas United, Placer Hills Fuego, Pleasanton RAGE, and River Park Soccer Club.
“It was great to see the amount of representation we had from so many different clubs all across the state,” Taylor said. “We will continue striving to make recreational soccer more accessible in all of Northern California and to continue providing great eventslike this. Soccer is for everyone, and this event reinforces that idea for us every year.”
The younger version of the Super Rec Cup, open to teams from the U9-U14 age groups, takes place December 7 and 8 at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. Applications are open through November 15 and can be found here.
