U16 Girls State Quarterfinals Recap

U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
5/7Force
3-1
SF Elite
In yet another meeting between NPL Champions League sides, De Anza Force appeared to come in as the favorites, having defeated SF Elite by a 4-0 scoreline in the NPL season. However, it initially appeared as if SF Elite would take this game, as they scored in just the 12th minute through Gabriella Rodil. De Anza were able to regroup, though, and goals in the 41st (Madeline Schin), 47th (Olivia Meier), and 80th (Andrea Kitahata) minutes sent them to the semifinals.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL B

1-2
Lamorinda United
Two weeks prior to their State Cup meeting, NPL Champions League sides Lamorinda United and Marin FC Blue played to a 2-2 draw, making their quarterfinal match one to watch. Early on though, it appeared as if Lamorinda would run away with the game, as Sasha Sadoff scoring in the 25th minute before Margaux Clarke doubled the lead in the 47th. Lola McAllister grabbed one back for Marin FC in the 56th minute, leading to a late press for an equalizer, but it ultimately didn’t come.

Sindia Artega Garcia provided the opening goal for Tahuichi, proving again to be their talisman, but Diablo FC equalized through Fiona Valdillez to keep the contest close.
