
With the U9 State Cup returning to the fold this weekend as teams will play their second group stage and quarterfinal matchups, NorCal Matchday returns to everyone’s favorite knockout competition. Over the course of the weekend, teams will battle to earn a spot in next month’s semifinal round, each playing a total of four games split between Saturday and Sunday.

| Undefeated in all competitions so far this year, Sporting finished first place in their group, securing the full nine points en route to the second group phase. Meanwhile, Livermore come into this weekend as fellow group winners and are coming off of a tough road draw that helped them place first. |

| After breezing through the first group stage with seven points while scoring 16 goals, Los Gatos United likely face their toughest test of the weekend Saturday afternoon when they play against CV Futbol Academy. CV also earned seven points in the group stage and are currently in first place in their fall league, where they've yet to lose a match so far. |

| This matchup features one of the strongest attacks of the group stage facing one of the stingiest defenses thus far in the competition. TSP FC secured all nine points from their three group games, scoring 28 goals in the process. Meanwhile, Albion only allowed two strikes in three games and will lean on their defense to try to contain TSP's lethal attack. |

Yuba scored more goals in the group stage with 16, but Newark allowed two fewer strikes. |
