2023 NorCal Fall Girls Showcase Recap
In what was yet another high quality weekend of soccer, NorCal Premier Soccer hosted the Girls Fall College Showcase at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex this past Saturday and Sunday.
For two days, in front of more than 80 college coaches from 20 different states, players from all across California demonstrated their ability to potentially earn a spot playing at the next level.
Overall, hundreds of competitive matches took place involving teams from NorCal’s ECNL-RL, NPL, and State Premier Championship, as well as some featuring sides from the ECNL as well as a few squads from SOCAL. All participating teams played in either the U16, U17, or U19 divisions.
“I’m excited to be participating in this event because there are a lot of great teams, a high level of competition, and really great camaraderie,” UC Santa Cruz Head Coach Lilia Dosalmas said during the event. “I’m just looking forward to seeing what’s available for the coming seasons and growing my program.”
Added William Jessup University assistant Abbie Faingold: “The event has been really good, just to see all the local talent in the area as well as seeing some other teams from outside of the area. Davis has really nice facilities so it gives us the opportunity to check out these athletes on good grounds with good competition. It’s just another opportunity for us to get some recruiting in for these girls who are going into the winter season.”
Outside of the regular club matches, NorCal also hosted an All-Star Game Saturday night for the second straight year.
The rosters, which can be viewed here, were made up of a selection from the Bay Area, pitted against another group from the Central Valley. Thanks to a 2-0 victory, the Valley side defeated their Bay counterparts for the second year running.
