San Juan SC 2 – Mustang SC 1

Mustang: Gaskell
In a matchup between two undefeated sides, San Juan SC hosted Mustang SC this past weekend and the hosts were able to get off to a good start as Lily Rodriguez struck from 25 yards to give San Juan an early advantage. But after knocking on the door with several opportunities, Mustang finally equalized the scoreline just after halftime as Aideen Gaskell cleanly fired a left-footed shot into the lower right corner of the net on a breakaway. With both sides pressing hard for a winner, the match looked like it would go down as a draw, only for Kate Zimmerman to provide a late winner that gave San Juan all three points.

Santa Cruz Country Breakers 0 – Burlingame BSC 4
Burlingame Scorers: Spenner, Yeh, Adorno, Ellerhorst
In a matchup between unbeaten teams, Burlingame BSC travelled to Santa Cruz to take on the Breakers and came home with a convincing three points. Goals from Elise Spenner, Grace Yeh, Nuria Adorno, and Kaylee Ellerhorst paved the way for a cool 4-0 win that kept Burlingame’s perfect streak in the NPL 2 alive and cemented the club at the top of the table for the time being.
U14 Boys NPL 1 West
Force Academy II 3 – MCS ECFC Salinas 6
MCS Scorers: Guerrero (2), Hernandez (2), Vasquez, Cardenas
Force Scorers: Tomar (2), Arellano
In one of the highest-scoring games in the state this past weekend, MCS ECFC Salinas impressed against Force Academy II, hitting the back of the net six times to give them four wins from four games. Javier Guerrero and Daniel Avendando Hernandez were the stars on the day, each bagging braces to go along with strikes from Jose Vasquez and Leonardo Cardenas. Meanwhile, Force were led by Abhishek Tomar, who bagged a brace of his own, while Sebastian Arellano also managed to get his name on the scoresheet.
U15 Boys NPL 1 West
San Jose Surf 1 – Santa Clara Sporting 2
Sporting Scorer: Quintana (2)
Surf Scorer: Cruz
This top-of-the-table clash initially looked to be going the way of hosts San Jose Surf, who scored early through Jared Frausto Cruz, but Santa Clara Sporting got back into it and cemented their place at the top of the table with a 2-1 victory. For Sporting, Enoedis Quintana did the damage, scoring a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of the match to keep Santa Clara’s perfect start to the season going.
