“We continue to create professional and exciting environments for adults in NorCal,” said Director of Adult Soccer Cris Gilmore. “Our high-level Summer League, which is geared towards college players coming back home, is where teams will play 10 quality matches.”
In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to compete in the newly-formed COPA CALIFORNIA, which will pit the NorCal champions against the U-23 winners from SoCal Premier Soccer’s similar division.
The highly anticipated LIGA Premier will be debuting this fall with a European Calendar, multiple divisions, and promotion/relegation. This season will consist of 20-plus league games from September to May. In addition all divisions will compete in the Copa NorCal which will begin in December and last throughout the spring.
All participating squads will also qualify for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in rounds.
There will be monetary prizes for the champions and finalist of LIGA Premier as well as over $5,000 in possible prize money for the Finalists of the Copa NorCal.
“We suggest all youth clubs to work hard to create a first team,” Gilmore said. “Let us know how we can best help you accomplish a goal that we feel is paramount to the development of soccer in this country.”
