About the Course

This course is designed for coaches working with players from U16 through the collegiate and professional levels. The clinician will lead a USL2 men’s team through a complete Match Day -1 training session, providing insight into how elite teams prepare in the final session before competition.

The session will demonstrate game-preparation principles, including team shape, positional responsibilities with and without the ball, and set-play organization. Coaches will gain a firsthand look at how a full squad is prepared for match day, with a focus on positional attacking play and restarts.

Session Components

• Dynamic warm-up
• Small-sided activation game
• 11v11 build-out phase (both directions)
• 11v11 positional attack phase (both directions)
• 11v11 shadow match at approximately 75% intensity, integrated with match-specific restarts

Restart Scenarios

• Kick-offs
• Throw-ins
• Attacking and defending free kicks
• Attacking and defending corner kicks

This is a unique coach education opportunity that will be particularly valuable for coaches working in advanced, elite, and high-performance environments who are looking to better understand how top-level teams prepare for competition.
