U16 Girls State Quarterfinals Preview

U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
5/7Force
3:00 PM
SF Elite
In yet another match between NPL Champions League sides, Force ECNL will look to move closer to some silverware after falling just short in the league season, finishing three points off the mark. The two squads met earlier in the league season, with Force thrashing SF Elite by a 4-0 scoreline. That being said, SF Elite have put together a pair of gritty, one goal wins in the State Cup, showing that they won’t lie down to anyone.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL B
5/7Marin FC
10:30 AM
Lamorinda United
The first match of the weekend for the U16 Girls State Cup should be an exciting one, with a pair of NPL Champions League sides separated by just four points in the standings meeting with a semifinal berth on the line. While Marin bested Lamorinda in the standings by one place, their league match was unable to decide a winner, with the sides drawing 2-2 two weeks ago. With their strong pedigree, either winner will be among the favorites to capture the overall title.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL C
5/7Tahuichi FC
12:45 PM
Diablo FC
On paper, this game should go to U16 Girls NPL Champions League side Diablo FC, but State Premier 1 side Tahuichi FC Red have gotten this far and will expect to win, regardless of which division either side played league in. In the State Cup, Tahuichi have been unstoppable in the attack, putting seven goals in the back of the net in their last two games, while Diablo FC have advanced on a pair of one-goal wins.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL D
5/7Davis Legacy
5:15 PM
San Bruno
It would be unfair to call Davis Legacy Red anything other than the favorites to capture the overall crown given the fine form that they’re in. Not only did the Legacy capture the U16 Girls NPL Championship with a 6-1-0 record, but they won their last State Cup knockout round by an 8-1 scoreline, beating a Placer United squad that had won their previous game 9-0. But State Premier Championship side San Bruno Lowen Tornados have done well in the State Cup, putting six goals past their two knockout round opponents.
