U15 Girls NPL Spring Showcase: Preview
U15 GIRLS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
In one of the closest divisions out there, three clubs enter the final weekend of Champions League play separated by just a point at the top. First-place Vision currently stand on top with 11 points, but FC Elk Grove and Force sit just one point behind Vision. Even if Vision defeat FC Elk Grove in their Saturday matchup, Force can remain alive for the title with a victory over the Pleasanton Rage. Neutral eyes will definitely be on two fields at the showcase Sunday as Vision then take on the Rage, while Elk Grove and Force face off. Just behind those three sides stand the Rage and Marin, who are both undefeated, but have just a 1-0-4 record that has likely taken them out of contention for the top spot, barring a series of fortunate results.
U15 GIRLS NPL 1
With matches stretching all throughout May, it’s possible that the Girls U15 NPL 1 won’t be decided this weekend, despite eight total matches taking place during the showcase. A pair of wins would give CV San Jose Earthquakes an excellent chance at the title, but one they wouldn’t be able to officially claim until the following weekend if Force North, who have a game in hand, also won their pair of contests.
U15 GIRLS NPL 2
Santa Clara Sporting (3-0-1) enter the showcase as the top team in the Girls U15 NPL 2 division, but it’s second-place MVLA’s (3-0-0) division to lose. Not only do MVLA head into the weekend, which features seven games from this division, with a perfect record, but they’ve yet to allow a single goal. MVLA face a strong Impact Green (2-2-0) side Sunday, while Santa Clara Sporting take on third-place SF Elite (2-2-0).
U15 GIRLS NPL 3
Both the West Coast Soccer Warriors and San Juan Spirits currently possess identical 4-1-0 records, but that will change the night before the showcase when the pair of sides face off in a late contest. If there’s a winner in that game, that club will be able to close out the championship with a pair of victories on the weekend.
