U15 Boys State Cup Semifinals Recap

U15 BOYS STATE SEMIFINAL A
5/11Santa Rosa United
2-4
MCS ECFC
After both Santa Rosa United and MCS ECFC United combined for just three goals in their quarterfinal matches, their semifinal erupted with twice as many strikes, with MCS coming out on top. But Santa Rosa scored first and it initially looked to be a repeat of the previous trends as the only first half goal came on an opportunistic strike from Drayden Ponte. Just a few minutes after the break, Victor Narez equalized before namesake Diego Narez put MCS up, only for Santa Rooosa’s Anthony Hernandez Escamilla to draw things level at 2-2. Momentum would turn against the North Bay side afterwards, with late goals from Christopher Esparza-Pasos and Anthony Arevalo striking to confirm a second straight final berth for MCS.
U15 BOYS STATE SEMIFINAL B
5/11Manteca FC Boca Jrs
2-5
San Juan Blue
Defending champions Manteca FC came into this game as huge favorites, having not lost yet in the Champions League and having scored 15 goals in the previous three State Cup rounds. But they seemed to have no answer for NPL 1 side San Juan SC, who took a hat trick from Nick Strangio as well as strikes from Anthony Sanchez-Reya and Mateo Barth to end Manteca’s title defense with a 5-2 victory.
