Coming in as favorites in the Santa Rosa Derby, Santa Rosa United took care of business against rivals Atletico Santa Rosa. It took just a Gianluca Dimauro goal in the 11th minute to decide this game as United were able to hold off their opponents and secure a spot in the semifinals.

While the quarterfinal between MCS ECFC United and Diablo FC entered halftime scoreless, MCS scored two goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half to complete a cool 2-0 victory over Diablo. Alejandro Ibarra Moreno was the first to strike, hitting the back of the net in the 49th minute before Victor Narez scored two minutes later to cap off this match.

Defending champions Manteca FC were dealt a heavy blow when one of their players was sent off early in the second half against the San Jose Earthquakes. But by that time, they were already one goal ahead thanks to Edison Ramirez. And when they were down a man, they only seemed to improve as Manteca scored goals from Juan Lara Solis and Joel Velasquez to down the Earthquakes via a 3-0 scoreline.

In a game that has been moved to the following Thursday in Woodland, last year’s semifinalists Woodland SC will again look to make a dream run and put their club on the map. Despite playing in the State Premier Championship, Woodland have again strung together an impressive set of results to re-enter the conversation, most recently beating Briceno Lightning 3-1. Meanwhile, San Juan SC have good standing as the current fourth-place squad in the NPL 1 and were even more impressive in the Round of 16, beating Marin FC 5-1.
