U14 Girls State Semifinals Recap

U14 GIRLS STATE SEMIFINAL A
5/13Union Sacramento
0-1
Pajaro Valley
As the only non-NPL side left in the entire girls side of the competition, Parajo Valley continued their dream run, making it all the way to the final after a 1-0 semifinal victory over Union Sacramento. In what was a back-and-forth match, it was a solitary moment that provided the difference, with Gisselle Vasquez scoring in the 63rd minute. From there, Parajo Valley put down the clamps on the match and kept a clean sheet to end the match.
U14 GIRLS STATE SEMIFINAL B
5/13Davis Legacy
1-2
Placer United
A pair of goals in each half saw Placer United take a commanding lead over Davis Legacy, with the Legacy’s late comeback attempt falling just short to send Placer to the final. Lucy Newlin scored just 23 minutes into the match to give United the advantage before Isabela Cook doubled the Placer lead with a well-taken penalty. Davis made things interesting by scoring a 66th minute goal through Cailin Bloom, but Placer were able to mitigate any other possible Legacy chances from there.
