U14 Girls State Quarterfinals Preview

U14 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
5/6Union Sacramento
4:40 PM
FC Elk Grove
For FC Elk Grove Platinum, currently in fifth place in the U14 Girls NPL 1, defense has been their major strength. Elk Grove have allowed just seven goals in six league games and two goals in the previous two State Cup games. Facing them will be Union Sacramento, who have been unstoppable on offense in scoring 20 goals in five U14 Girls NPL 2 East games to currently top the division with a 4-0-1 record.
U14 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL B
5/6Clovis Crossfire
2:30 PM
Pajaro Valley
In one of the more interesting matches of the weekend, in form Parajo Valley United Red take on Clovis Crossfire Blue in a match that could go either way. Perhaps no team in Northern California is as hot as Parajo Valley right now, with United currently on top of the U14 Girls State Premier division with a 6-0-0 record. Their Cup form has been just as good, with a 6-0 win over Santa Clara Sporting sending them to this round. Meanwhile, Clovis have scored eight goals in their past two State Cup games, but have put up just a 2-4-0 record in the U14 Girls NPL 2 East.
U14 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL C
5/6Walnut Creek
12:20 PM
Davis Legacy
Both Davis Legacy Red and Walnut Creek Blue will head into their quarterfinal matchup very familiar with their foe, as the two sides played each other roughly two weeks ago in NPL 1 play. While Walnut Creek took that match via a 3-1 scoreline, they’ll have a tough time stopping a powerful Legacy attack that has produced 19 goals in just six league matches.
U14 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL D
5/6Placer United
10:10 AM
MVLA White
Placer United Gold will have to be considered the clear favorites in this game, just having wrapped up the U14 Girls NPL Champions League title this past weekend at the NPL College Showcase. Meanwhile, MVLA Barca White enters this match with a 2-5-0 record in the State Premier Division, but have advanced this far in the tournament thanks to victories over Rage Premier and Livermore Fusion in which MVLA put up three goals in each.
