The U14 girls age group only featured Champions League matches at the NPL College Showcase, but the action didn’t disappoint, with a strong Placer United side claiming the title late Sunday despite losing 4-2 to De Anza Force. Thanks to a 2-1 victory over PSV Union earlier in the season, Placer United had the first tiebreaker over their closest rivals, and entered the weekend three points behind them but with a game in hand. Thankfully, from the Placer point of view, they won their Saturday game 2-1 over Marin, leveling them on points with PSV. The title then came down to a dramatic ending as Placer lost to De Anza on Sunday, but watched from the sidelines as PSV fell to Marin 3-1 to give Placer the title.
