Man of the Match: Gerardo Perez

In a matchup between the favored Napa Soccer Academy and the cinderella run from Atletico Santa Rosa, the game went chalk, with Napa scoring early and often to put the contest out of reach by the time Atletico were even able to get a solitary goal.

Atletico Santa Rosa’s high line struggled with the pace of winger Gerado Perez, who scored just eight minutes into the match after a run down the left side of the field where he beat two players and then slotted the ball into the far post for a clean finish.

Fourteen minutes later, Perez could have scored a second on a breakaway but elected to square the ball across the box for Justin Sotelo to tap into an empty net, giving Napa a 2-0 lead entering the break.

Six minutes after halftime, Perez then created another goal after he was dragged down in the box, leaving Enrique Saenz to step up and cooly slot home the penalty.

Though Santa Rosa were able to get a goal back in the 51st minute on an absolute wonder goal from Gabriel Cazarez that kissed the upper right corner of the post, Napa goals from Juliano Perczek and Kevin Galaviz — the latter which was a rebound from a Perez shot — put the game away and saw Napa lift the Cup.
